When I was a young girl, I visited my extended family in Finland. Random, I know. The most pivotal place that I remember from this experience is this phenomenal garden my family had at their farmhouse. Ever since placing my eyes on this masterpiece I knew a garden in my future.
Gardening maintenance is required to have the garden of your dreams. The process is not necessarily glamorous, but it will help your garden flourish in the end. Here are 5 Helpful Hints that will help make your maintenance experience all the more easier!
1.Watering your vegetables- Vegetables, flowers, shrubs, and trees all need water. Seed germination, flower, and fruit development and seed production all require a steady supply of moisture in the soil. Improper watering can be harmful and it is necessary to research what type of watering each plant requires.
2.Rain Gauge- A rain gauge shows how much natural precipitation has fallen, so at a glance you can tell if a day of watering or a day of relaxation is in your plant’s future. Place the rain gauge in an open area with no trees or structures overhead. Be sure to empty the gauge after each rainfall.
3.Watering Can- Seedlings need a watering can, which is a refreshing drink at a moment’s notice. The watering can is balanced and easy to carry around. It is also ideal companion when the temperatures are soaring and jut a few plants need water.
4.Fertilizing- If you prepared the planting beds properly—most vegetables should require little additional fertilizer. Avoid using high-nitrogen fertilizers which promote leafy green growth at the expense of flowers and fruits.
5.Weeding- Weeding is definitely an activity which it is far easier to keep up than catch up. Do not let the weeds grow, it makes the process of digging and pulling the roots a lot harder. If weeds have become well established, wait until a good rain to pull them out.
