Yesterday, I heard a sad failed home maintenance story. A business associate told me about a friend who recently went on vacation to have the time of her life only to return to a $35,000 home maintenance disaster emanating from the all too familiar ice maker hose behind the refrigerator. Preventative home maintenance is so much less expensive than reactive home maintenance. Take pests for example! Termites are a fact of life in Southern California and yet we keep building wood frame homes. Go figure!
